I’M 20?!

April 24, 2016

20/04/1996 marks the day my life began and I was to live my life with the name – Holly Rene Da Silva.  Yes you guessed it, it was my birthday recently and it was definitely the best birthday I have had so far!  I’ve decided that I am going to do a post on what I did for my birthday and then a separate one for the lovely things my wonderful friends, family and boyfriend got for me.  Stay tuned!

What I did for my birthday.

Oh believe you me, I made a day of it haha!  Firstly, I had a major dilemma to sort – What am I going to wear?!  Whilst I was on holiday I ordered a gorgeous dress from asos (link to dress).  It was on sale for £17.50 which I thought was an absolute bargain!  I was so excited to come home and try it on but…

outfit gone wrong

Yup, it was far too big!  This is a size 10 and I couldn’t believe it.  I look ridiculous but the dress is amazing.  But anyway the first thing I had to do was go out and buy something to wear! (You’ll see what I found later in the post).

Once I had the outfit situation under control it was time for some grub!  James took me to Coast-to-Coast and if you have never been, I like to describe it as a better and more up market TGI’s.  We absolutely pigged out I have to say.  I had the Coast-to-Coast Breakfast which consisted of; 2 Cumberland sausages, streaky bacon, 2 fried eggs, breakfast potatoes, roast herb tomato, corn fritter and baked beans.  James had the feast which was basically all of what I had but with 3 stacked pancakes with maple syrup.  Oh, and we also shared a side of black pudding.  It’s safe to say I was stuffed!!  Good thing I went shopping before I ate.

For the rest of the afternoon James and I just chilled out and had a catch up since we had been away from each other for two weeks.  Then it was time to get ready!

At 6 a few of my closest friends came round and we had a couple of drinks before heading to Revolution for some food and cocktails.  We took a few snaps together! 🙂

Things got a little silly when the camera decided to repeatedly take photos! (P.S, We only had 2 drinks by this point)

We eventually got to Revolution and ordered in some cocktails.

2 Fizzy Fruit Salads and a Blue Movie

The meal was great and it was so cheap!!  If you have a Revolution Card (It only costs £3 and you get so many benefits! Well worth the money)  you get 50% off your food bill on Wednesdays. Insane right?!  So a bill that should have been over £60 came to roughly £31.50!  We Aberdonians love a bargain!

For the rest of the night we went to a bar/club called Prohibition where we bought around 4 bottles of vodka and had a great night!  To be clear, more people did turn up to the night part – we did not share 4 bottles of vodka between 6 people.

Some pictures from through-out the night

What I wore and where it is from.

I had to dig up a snapchat photo just to be able to show you my absolutely GORGEOUS heels!

Bodysuit – River Island: £22

This is the first time I have ever worn a bodysuit and I loved it – you know after getting used to the poppers!  It meant that I wasn’t constantly worrying about my top untucking from my skirt.  It was also surprising comfortable.

Skirt – River Island: £28

This is my first leather look skirt and again I loved it.  It gives a special something to a plain outfit.  It was very comfortable and I didn’t find myself having to constantly pull it down.

Shoes – Public Desire: £29.99 (I got them for £25)

Ugh these shoes!  They are my new love.  I had never heard of Pubic Desire before until they followed me on Instagram one day.  After months of seeing there shoes these ones popped up and like I said I instantly fell in love.  They arrived very quickly and the quality of the show is amazing.  While I was in River Island finding my outfit I actually saw a pair of heels pretty much identical to these for £55!  I would definitely recommend buying shoes from Public Desire and I will certainly be purchasing a lot more.

Lipstick

I am wearing the NYX liquid suede lipstick in the colour StoneFox which is a gorgeous Grey.

On my toes I managed to find a nail varnish that matched my body suit so well! It is Rimmel Londons 60 seconds Super Shine in the colour “Bee a Honey” – Yes there is a filter on this photo but it is because without it it looks yellow but in actual fact it is more orange and the filter I used shows this perfectly.

SO, over 800 words later I think I am done telling you about my night!  Just a wee reminder about firstly, Revolution Cards – £3 can be bought in the restaurant or online and there is so many benefits from having one.  Secondly, a reminder to all you students out there!  UniDays gives you codes that you can use to get discount off all ASOS orders and also many other shops!  Check it out – UniDays

SimplyKirsty also put up a post about my birthday so be sure to check it out and see where her outfit is from too!

Bye for now
