Benefit Product Review Part 1

Advertisements

Benefit has got to be one of my favourite brands!  I’d say it is in between ‘drugstore’ and ‘high end’.  The price of some of the items can be quite high but I definitely think the quality (of most products) is worth it.

As you’ve probably read from the title of this post I’m going to split this into 2 posts simply because I have a fair amount of products to talk about and I don’t want to bore you with one HUGE post! So this post will be all face products/base products and the second post will be eyes and lips.

Hello Flawless Oxygen wow! Foundation – £26.50

“Our brightening liquid foundation builds from light to medium coverage for a natural complexion you can believe in. It’s you…just more luminous & healthy looking.

I have this foundation in the lightest shade which is Ivory – I’m pure for sure.  I was really on the fence about buying this foundation however I bit the bullet and got it and I am so glad that I did.  It’s more of a dewy finish which I didn’t used to like but since trying this foundation I much prefer it over matte.  I really love that as you are using it there is a little platform that pushes the product up (I have explained that soo badly!!)  Basically you can really easily see how much product you have left!

Dew the Hoola Liquid Bronzer – £22.50

“This liquid bronzer gives your face a year-round glow without the gleam. The smoothing effects and lightweight texture melt in for a shimmerless, natural look that’s so sheer, it’ll have you saying hoola-la!

Not too long ago I went to my friends University Ball and we decided to go to the Benefit counter to get our make up done for it.  The lady there used this on me and I thought it looked really pretty.  Usually I’m not a fan of using liquid products on top of my foundation however I thought I would give it go.  Admittedly I am still trying to get the hang of this product and using the right amount!  It is so easy to go over board with this stuff but overall I do really like it.  It gives a nice bronzey glow.  I do think I’d prefer the powder version though.

High Beam Liquid Highlighter – £19.50

“Our satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a dewy glow. Use as a spot highlighter over makeup or wear under complexion products for subtle luminescence.

As I said previously I’m not a big fan of using liquid products on top of my foundation but again I was really surprised at how much I like this highlight!  It is so pigmented and you really do need to lightest touch with this product.  It is a really pretty iridescent pink and it doesn’t cause caking on the face which is a bonus!  I’ve had this highlight for ages and I’m so far away from finishing it so I feel the value for money with this product is great too.

Watts Up! Cream Highlighter – £24.50

“Our soft focus highlighter turns on “watt” ya got with a delicate champagne glow that’s gorgeous. The cream-to-powder finish is a switch-on “wow” for all complexions. You’ll adore the smooth applicator.

This was another product the lady used on me when I was getting my make up done and it truly is stunning.  It’s a champagne colour that is subtle but incredibly pretty.  I use this most days when I want something quick but I know will last all day.  It comes with a little sponge on the end to blend out but I find using my fingers is just as effective.

Rockateur Rose Gold Blush – £23.50

“This rockin’ rose gold cheek powder gives a famously provocative flush that turns heads on-stage and off. The specialized formula combines the best features of baked, powder, cream and fluid textures for brighter results. The crowd will go wild for its sexy faceted design, accented in luxe gold.

This is – so far – my all time favourite blush!  It is absolutely gorgeous!  It’s not your ‘standard’ pink blush, it’s more of a pinky bronze shade and I just think it is so flattering!  I mainly use this for nights out rather than day to day as it can be quite intense.  Again, this product is very pigmented and I think it is great value for money as you don’t need a lot!  It is definitely a product that you need to go swatch and fall in love with.  Even if you don’t particularly like the colour I can guarantee that you will fall in love with the design on it.

That wraps up the first installment of my Benefit Brand Review!  Hopefully you have enjoyed reading this and maybe it has persuaded you to go out and try some of these products!  I want to add that Benefit often have an offer of 4 mini products for £15.  I’m not sure if this is available everywhere but certainly in the Aberdeen stalls they do and I think it is a great way to try some of their products without a huge bank breaking commitment!

Let me know what your favourite Benefit product is and if you’ve tried any of the ones I’ve mentioned in the post!
