Benefit Product Review Part 2

Advertisements

Welcome back to my one brand review which is on Benefit Cosmetics.  If you haven’t read the first part of this post you should go check it out Benefit Product Review Part 1

As I said before this post will be on all eye/eyebrow and lip products.  Lets get into shall we?

I’m going to start with a product that stupidly is not in the feature picture because I left it at home when I was taking pictures! Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit – £24.50

“Our famous pocket-size eyebrow kit is NEW & improved!Brow zing’s perfectly paired eyebrow powder & wax, mini slant tweezers and NEW dual-sided extendable applicator is everything you need to sculpt, shape and fill brows. Plus, our signature Tips & Tricks! Available in 3 NEW shades so every gal can get amaZING brows.

As you can possibly tell from the description and if you are a Benefit lover you will know that very recently Benefit brought out all new packaging on their brow products.  I have the ‘old’ version of the kit so it is just plain black and I believe it is in the shade medium/dark which doesn’t seem to be an option anymore as they have brought out new shades.  I really love this little kit, I think it effortlessly makes a huge difference to my brows and it is so simple to use.  One side is a wax and the other is a powder.  I never have any problems with my brows ‘coming off’ as it were when I use this product and also I don’t feel that it gives you that block look which is also great!

It would make sense to next talk about Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel – £18.50

“Our cult-favorite gimme brow tinted eyebrow gel contains tiny microfibers that adhere to skin & hairs, creating natural-looking fullness and definition. The custom, tiny tapered brush blends easily while the precision tip shapes hairs into place. Now available in 3 shades, including a NEW MEDIUM SHADE, so every gal can brush on fuller-looking brows. Includes signature Tips & Tricks.

I have only ever had a sample size of this product but honestly it has lasted me months! I used it almost every single day and so I’m confident that the full size would last basically forever.  The shade I was given was also perfect, I think it was the darkest one.  I would use this either on its own or after using the Browzings and I loved how my eyebrows looked either way.  I highly recommend this product!

Next lets talk about mascaras.  I have 3 different ones to talk about and 3 very different things to say about them!

First up is the They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara – £19.50

“they’re real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts and separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!

I have this mascara in Jet Black and bought it after a few of my friends were absolutely raving about it.  I admit it looked really nice on them, however, it just did nothing for me at all.  It simply coated my lashes and gave me no extra length of lift.  I was incredibly disappointed with the mascara!  I have to say when I got my make up done at the counter they used this on me and I did like it more than when I first tried it so I’m not sure if they changed the formulas or my tastes in mascara have changed!

The second mascara I’m going to talk about is the BADgal lash volumizing mascara – £17.50

“Sexy, dramatic, pure unadulterated black mascara for full, voluminous lashes. Famously big brush coats lashes with our thick black formula.

I bought this last christmas when they started the 4 mini products for £15 offer.  I like how big the brush is and everything but again I was not amazed by this mascara.  If you are looking for a more natural looking mascara from benefit this could be the one for you.

The final mascara is Roller Lash Curling Mascara – £19.50

“It’s a roller for lashes! The eye-opening Hook ‘n’ Roll brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls?while the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours. Contains provitamin B5 and serin, ingredients known for their lash-conditioning benefits.

I have a true love-hate relationship with this mascara.  Sometimes it looks absolutely amazing and there is nothing better.  It gives great length, lift and volume to the lashes and the lashes don’t fall down during the course of the day.  However, on other days it will give the most clumpy, thick, spider lash look that I hate.  I often had to use tweezers to separate the lashes after using this mascara and even then it didn’t look very good!  It is definitely worth trying.

The final thing to talk about is lip products!  I have two lip glosses from Benefit that I don’t tend to reach for too often but that is purely based on preferring a matte look!

The first one I bought was Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip gloss – £14.50

“Our plush glosses glide on extra smooth and feel ahhh-mazing. The six irresistible shades, from sultry nudes to punchy pinks, come in soft-squeeze tubes with a custom tip designed for perfectly even application.

£14.50 is an absolutely ridiculous amount of money for a lip gloss I do have to admit.  It is a very pretty pink nude colour which I should really wear more.  I definitely think that there will be much cheaper colour dupes for this colour though!  The formula is not sticky at all and has a lot of shimmer so be aware of that in case you hate glitters!

The final product I’m going to speak about is the Dandelion Ultra Plush Lip Gloss – £14.50

“Our plush glosses glide on extra smooth and feel ahhh-mazing. The six irresistible shades, from sultry nudes to punchy pinks, come in soft-squeeze tubes with a custom tip designed for perfectly even application.

I don’t own a full size of this product as I got it as part of there 4 for £15 offers.  This is a great soft pink colour that can be worn every day or on top of a matte to give it shine.  Again, I do feel that it is very over-priced for what it is but the formula of these lip glosses are perfect.  It really depends on how much you are willing to spend.

And that brings us to the end of my two part Benefit Cosmetics Product Review! Hopefully these reviews have been helpful and maybe made you decide to try the brand out for yourself!  Benefit also have a great skincare range and I will be purchasing some to put to the test fully once I’m finished with my current skincare routine!

Have you tried any of these products? what are your favourites because I’d love to know!
