The Body Shop Blogger Meet Up

Advertisements

PINCH PUNCH FIRST OF THE MONTH – How is it December!? Anyway that is very unrelated to this blog post, lets get into it!

I can’t quite believe I’m actually saying this but I WENT TO MY FIRST BLOGGER EVENT! The event was held at The Body Shop Aberdeen to which we found out a lot about what The Body Shop do and we also got to see the new Christmas range which was amazing!  On top of all that I got to meet some other wonderful bloggers than are based in Aberdeen like me!

Where do I start?! I guess I should start by talking about The Body Shop brand itself.  They do a wide range of different skin care, make up and fragrance products that are all good for your skin and they pride themselves for their commitment against animal testing.  At the moment The Body Shop have launched their Go Wild Campaign and with every purchase you make at The Body Shop they will restore 1 square meter of the rain forest in Vietnam which I think is a wonderful idea.  Its also a nice feeling to know that buy treating yourself you are saving a habitat.

So on arrival at the event we were given a choice of Bucks Fizz or Cava to drink along with some little sweets.  We then heard a talk from the ladies at the body shop about what The Body Shop are doing and they also spoke about all the new make up and skin care products that they had been launching.  They also told us about what they plan to release within the next year or so which was an exciting start to the evening!  They released new eye shadow quads this year and the formula of these eye shadows are amazing, very buttery and highly pigmented too! I was completed drawn to the little yellow one down at the bottom of the picture!!

So the first thing that really caught my eye was this table.  It is a personalised body butter sticker machine which I just think is the most perfect idea!  You buy a body butter with the scent of your choice – warning there is so many to choose from!! – and then you can get a free sticker to personalise it for yourself or a loved one.  You can choose from a flamingo, deer, tiger or panda.

Now onto the Christmas range!! They have released 3 new scents for Christmas; Vanilla Chai, Frosted Berries and Spiced Apple.  They are all gorgeous however Vanilla Chai is definitely my favourite.  Its a very sweet, cake like scent and lets be honest… who doesn’t like cake?!  There is so many products in these scents such as; body butter, candles, body spray, shower gel and more!

I love the idea that you can buy mini products at The Body Shop it means you can try more things and decide your favourite before you commit to a full size! Saying that I don’t think that The Body Shop is expensive, I would definitely say they are well priced.

We got to take a peak at the new advent calendars and better yet they were 40% off!! The ladies explained to us that this is the first time that they have ever reduced their advent calendars which definitely drew me in to buying one!  I think it is such a good idea to get beauty advent calendars as you can try a lot of products for a relative price and The Body Shop have definitely got it right by selling 3 different priced ones so that it suits any budget.

This picture is just a small – VERY small – glimpse into all the other scents and products that they have to offer that are not so Christmassy.  There is; coconut, aloe vera, vanilla, shea, mandarin, pink grapefruit, almond, rose and so so much more!  You definitely need to spend an hour or so just smelling them all and deciding which one is your favourite.

I truly wish I had taken my camera with me to this event so I could have taken better quality pictures but being my first event I really wasn’t sure what to expect!  I want to give Sarah from BlogsVlogsEtc a huge shout out for organising this event through the group AbzBlogChat! She was incredibly welcoming when we arrived and it was overall just a great experience.

Look out for my connecting post in the next few days where I talk about all the goodies I bought and what I think of them!
