L’OREAL| BALMAIN COLLECTION

December 19, 2017

Hello everyone and welcome back! IT’S SO CLOSE TO CHRISTMAS!!

While I was looking around Boots for some inspiration I had a little visit to the L’Oreal counter.  The lady at the stall was very nice and talked me through all their new products and releases and the products that most caught my eye were the Balmain Collection.  The collection is made up of 12 tailer made designer lipsticks created by Oliver Rousteing.  The idea behind them is that they are designed to embody 3 feminities: Safari, Rock and Couture “Lipstick shades for every woman – no matter her origin, no matter her tribe” All the lipsticks are designed to have a matte finish.

So in spirit of this exciting new release I decided to pick up a colour from each catergory! I have to point out that the packaging of these lipsticks is absolutely incredible! When I was buying them I pretty much decided that even if I didn’t like the lipsticks, they would look great as decor! Also, these lipsticks retail for a pretty huge £12.99 a piece!

The first one I picked up was in the shade Domination. This is a beautiful blue undertoned red shade. It is definitely my favourite kind of red so I was suckered into it! It is very creamy and applies pretty nicely. Not much to complain about with this one!

BALMAIN8 (1).JPGThe second shade I chose was Rebellion. Rebellion is a straight up blue shade. I have a few blue licksticks now and this one, although a gorgeous colour, just isn’t up to scratch. It applies very patchy so it’s a big no for wearing out. Even the swatch is pretty patchy! I really don’t have much to say about this lipstick at all.

BALMAIN8 (2).JPGThe final one I chose was Balmain Instinct. This is a colour I most definitely do not own already which is why I was so intrigued by it. It is a grey toned olive green colour and honestly I’m not too sure when or how to wear this colour but I love it. It has flecks of gold glitter running through it which gives it a very high end look I think.  It does apply slightly patchier than I would like it to but I am determined to make this one work!
