THE SPIRITUALIST | CHRISTMAS MENU

With just over 2 weeks to go until the party season lots of restaurants are now launching their Christmas menus.  I was lucky enough to be invited along to The Spiritualist Aberdeen for a sneak peek of what they have to offer!

The menu has 4 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts and it is £25 for 3 courses which I feel is a very fair price especially for a festive menu.

Gin Cured Salmon

For starters I opted for the Gin Cured Smoked Salmon – the Gin swayed me for sure! The starter was presented beautifully and had slices of orange with it which was a lovely pairing to the salmon. With our starters I believe we were given a Reverse White Russian to try which is part of their Christmas Cocktail menu.

Butternut and Feta Wellington

For mains I decided to try the Roast Butternut and Feta Wellington. This was definitely my favourite course! I felt like it had the potential to be a bit dry tasting however it was anything but. My only note (not necessarily a negative either) is that the portion was absolutely massive! Kirsty and I opted for the same main and both only managed to eat half – definitely would have been satisfied sharing this dish! Along with our mains we decided to have a Supertini which is a spin of the classic Pornstar Martini.

Warm Christmas Pudding

How could I resist anything but the Warmed Christmas Pudding for dessert! I’ll admit, I had never had Christmas pudding before but I am so glad that I did. I always thought that Christmas Pudding would be super dense but to my surprise it was not. It was also a nice sized portion especially after my huge main course. Would you believe we had a cocktail with this too?  We opted for a Tom Foolery which is a personal favourite of mine! It is a mix of Raspberry, vanilla and blueberry infused Beefeater gin mixed with cranberry juice, blueberry syrup & citrus – yum!

The final cocktail we tried was the Hollaback Girl which I believe is a throwback to Amicus Apple days! Chambord liqueur and raspberry and kiwi infused Absolut Vodka mixed with raspberry and apple. Don’t forget it comes with a love heart too!

The service we received at The Spiritualist was fantastic and they truly made sure we felt welcomed and always had everything that we needed!

The menu goes live on the 26th of November and they have started to take Christmas Party bookings now! So be sure to get in there quick before you miss out.
