Ready for some baking?

These biscuity chocolate truffles are super easy to make and delicious too! I make them on a yearly basis however I cannot take responsibility for the recipe! This one is stolen from Tesco.  If you didn’t know already Tesco have a massive range of recipes on their website from breakfast, lunch, dinner, pudding and snacks – they literally have everything.

Lets get started!

  • Makes roughly 30 – 35 truffles
  • 25 mins to prepare, plus 30 mins for chilling
  • 110 calories / serving


  • 20 digestive biscuits
  • 125g (4oz) butter
  • 200g (7oz) condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa – You can use more depending on how chocolatey you want them to be!
  • 125g (4oz) desiccated coconut
  • *OPTIONAL* chocolate flavour strands or desiccated coconut to top them with (I usually skip this option)

Step 1 – Measure out your ingredients. Be organised, trust me it’ll make it much easier!

Step 2 – Put your digestives into a plastic ziplock bag and crush them. I don’t own a rolling pin so use a wooden spoon! You could also put the biscuits in a blender to do this.

Step 3 – Over a low heat, add your butter and condensed milk to the pan. Keep stirring until the butter has completely melted.


Step 4 – Add your desiccated coconut and cocoa powder to the melted mixture and mix everything together well. Yes, it does look like a weird chocolate porridge but it gets better – promise.


Step 5 – Slowly add in your crushed digestives. This can take a bit of time and will look like it isn’t working but be patient and keep mixing!

Step 6 – Roll the mixture into the size of ping pong balls – or to whatever size you wish them to be. This can definitely get a little messy!


Step 7 – This step is optional. Tesco recommend rolling the truffles in chocolate strands or more desiccated coconut. Similarly you could dip  / drizzle them in melted chocolate. Personally I like to keep them bare.

Step 8 – Try not to eat them all at once! Chill the truffles until you’re ready to serve them.

To my surprise you can actually freeze these for up to one month and can be defrosted in the fridge the night before consumption.


Okay I’ll be the one to say it… They look like weird meatballs but trust me, these truffles taste incredible! You can make them in advance to have in the fridge as a snack, part of Christmas dessert or a thoughtful holiday gift! If you do decide to make these then please let me know how they turned out!
