MY NAIL TRANSFORMATION

February 11, 2019

I’m really branching out with my content this year – today I’m bringing you some nail related content which is completely new to my blog. This post is actually a really embarrassing one and something I avoided talking about for the longest time! (p.s read until the end to find out about a fab little giveaway!)

I don’t know why, and I don’t know when but for as long as I can remember I was a nail biter. My sister and Dad also bite their nails so I’m assuming the habit was picked up from watching them and I just never grew out of it. People would tell me to use that polish that tasted nasty, but it just didn’t work!

When I turned 16, I started working at McDonald’s which meant I wasn’t allowed to wear nail polish even if I had been able to. As you may know, back in August I left my job at McDonald’s and moved into an Administrator role within the oil and gas sector. This is when Ellie came into my life!

Ellie used to also work at McDonald’s but at a different store which meant we had mutual friends, but we didn’t really know each other. So it was a surprise when she messaged me on the 1st of September and asked if I fancied getting my nails done by her as she was looking to try out some new designs. I embarrassingly had to tell her that I bit my nails and that’s when she told me about nail extensions. I decided to take a risk and go for it and it is honestly one of the best things I have ever done!

Yup! My nails were that disgusting. My before photo was taken on the 10th of September and my after photo was taken on the 4th of December! Amazing right! In Just 3 months I had managed to completely stop biting my nails and they definitely grew a lot quicker than I had expected.

My first 3 sets from Ellie all had extensions on them which was surprisingly more comfortable than I thought they would be. It definitely took a while getting used to them though – putting my jeans on being the absolute worst!

The fire nails were a particular favourite of mine! They were the first time I let Ellie get creative and use bright colours, but it really pushed me to have more fun with my nails!
December was the first set that I got done without any extensions and I was honestly so proud of myself! I also just couldn’t believe how long my nails had become although they are still extremely weak and bendy, but they will strengthen up over time.

When I started getting my nails done Ellie was just doing them from home, but she has now started working at NailCo! Ellie has been fully qualified to do nails since April 2018 and she honestly is amazing. She made sure I felt comfortable at every step and refuses to let you leave unless she is 100% happy with her work.

To promote my fabulous nail transformation Ellie and I have decided to host a wee giveaway over on Instagram! Be in with the chance to win bath bombs, face masks, cuticle oil and money off your next set at NailCo! Head over to Instagram to find out how to enter!

Check Ellie out on Instagram here.

Bye for now!
