I don’t know about you but the winter weather truly ruined my skin and even know I am still recovering from it! My skin has become very dry, flakey and sensitive too which I am most certainly not living for…
Activated charcoal products became super popular last year but I never really jumped on the trend other than charcoal toothpaste. There is a fair number of benefits of activated charcoal on the skin. It draws out bacteria, poisons, chemicals, dirt and other micro-particles to the surface of skin, helping you to achieve a flawless complexion and fight acne – sounds pretty perfect to me!
Like I said I never really jumped on the activated charcoal bandwagon so when Procoal offered to gift me a tube of their Exfoliating Face Scrub I jumped at the chance! At this point I will reiterate that I was gifted this product however it in no way has swayed my opinion and anything I say about the product is completely my own thoughts.
Procoal was set up by a husband and wife duo back in 2016 and they advocate being selfish when it comes to taking care of yourself – which I absolutely stand by! They are also cruelty free and vegan from what I can see which is a bonus. Procoal sell teeth whitening products, other skincare products, shampoos and deodorant too and it reasonable prices. The exfoliating face scrub costs £19.99 for a 75ml tube which is on the pricier side but hey, if it works right??
When I first squeezed some product out of the tube, I was surprised to see that it was white with little black lumps of charcoal rather than being all black. I do think there is something fun about all black products (despite the mess it leaves!)
I’ve had this product for just over a week and used it three times since receiving it. It is recommended to exfoliate twice per week but if you have very sensitive skin then once will most likely be enough.
The scrub itself isn’t overly abrasive but enough that you can feel it working. My skin felt immediately softer and cleaner without becoming too red or sensitive which is amazing. Overall, it is a product win and I am keen to try out more products from Procoal to see that they live up to this one. In particular, I am keen to try out the Shampoo Bars!
Have you tried this product or anything from else from Procoal? What are your thoughts?
