THE WINTER WARMER MENU AT SIBERIA

Siberia Winter Warmer Menu

[ Meal was kindly gifted to us by Siberia however there was no obligation to blog about the evening ]

I get so excited around Christmas time for a few reasons. Aberdeen looks pretty in the snow, the Christmas market is set up and mulled wine is just the best drink ever! However, one of my favourite things about Christmas is all the new menu’s that restaurants bring out. They incorporate all of the spiced flavours into their food and drink menu’s and they just leave you feeling all warm inside. So when Chloe from Siberia hit me up asking if I was keen to try out their new menu, I jumped at it!

Siberia

Siberia is a Vodka bar and hotel situated on Belmont Street. This makes it super easy to find while being in a very popular drinking street – great for a night out. They boast an excellent, seasonally changing menu that is served from 12-8pm. It is a mid range price point i.e a standard beef burger is £8.75 which I think is perfect.

As for the hotel, each room is equipped with hairdryers, 32″ TV, wi-fi and more! You even get a continental buffet breakfast included in the price of your room. For a room with a single bed you are as little as £40 per night. Absolutely perfect for those nights out!

THE MENU AT SIBERIA

Like I mentioned, Siberia change their menu dependent on season. This allows them to source local and fresh produce to use in their menu. We were invited a long to try out their current Winter menu which will be running until the end of the year! You quite often find with seasonal menu’s that they reduce the amount of options to choose from however this is absolutely not the case for Siberia. They offer 10 different starter options, 7 burgers, 6 modern classics and 4 winter warmer options – definitely look before you go!

THE STARTERS AT SIBERIA

For starters we decided to all choose something different to give us the best sample of the menu. With so many options it was difficult to narrow it down but eventually we got there! James decided to go for the KFC; Korean fried chicken, chilli, cucumber, spring onion and pickled radish. This dish was an absolute delight! As for me I opted for the Taco Fried Haggis with Whisky & Black Pepper Mayo

These were absolutely not what I expected, they were even better! Think haggis bon bons but with a better coating and loads more flavour! I would honestly be happy to order these with a side of chips as a main. They were so good! Kirsty was drawn to the Chipotle Pork and Rice Quesidilla, which was topped with pico de gallo and sour cream. Again this was a solid choice!

The tortilla was the right balance of soft and crisp and the filling with jam packed with flavour and a kick of spice! Thomas is a slightly more fussy eater than the rest of us however with Siberia offering such a vast menu there was no troubles in finding the perfect starter for him. He opted for the Panko Breaded Chicken with spicy mayo. He received 4 large pieces of perfectly coated, juicy chicken and it went down an absolute treat!

THE MAINS AT SIBERIA

We were all very impressed and surprised at the size of our starters – it also left us a little worried that we wouldn’t have room for the mains but we were ready to give it our best shot!

Again we decided that we would all go for something different so we could all have a bite of each others! James went for the most interesting looking option – one that I’ve seen across social media quite a lot too. He went for the Mac & Cheese Burger.

A tasty patty of deep fried macaroni and array of cheeses in a charcoal black toasted bun. This also came with a side of fries and slaw too. The mix of mozzarella, Monterey jack and cheddar cheese was an absolute delight. It was stringy, gooey and just everything a cheese lover needs in their life! Kirsty also opted for a burger but she decided to go for the classic Siberia Burger.

A delicious home-made beef patty with salad, whisky mayo and topped with bacon too! This burger, like James’, also came with a side of fries and slaw too. The beef patty was juicy and cooked to perfection – definitely a strong contender for the best burger! Thomas decided to go for a more classic approach to his food choice and opted for the North Sea Haddock. his was served with fries, mushy pea puree, chunky tartare sauce and a roast-tomato ketchup. If you order this, make sure you are hungry because they do not skimp out of the portion of fish! It was amazing! Now onto my choice.

I decided to go for something a bit different than what I normally would get and chose the Beetroot & Orange Vegetable Tagine. This is one of the dishes from the Winter Warmer section of the menu. It is served with fried chickpeas, herby rice and crispy flatbreads too. I’m not even sure what words to use to convey just how delicious this dish was! It was everything you could dream of on a cold winter evening!

THE DESSERTS AT SIBERIA

After an absolute feast we were all ready to admit defeat. Although, in saying that, it didn’t take the waitress very long to persuade us to order the Chocolate Fondue Trio!

I mean… just look at that! An array of fruits, marshmallow and mini donuts with pots of white, milk and dark chocolate to dip them in – how could we say no?! I loved this for a sharing dessert although I am keen to head back and try their Apple & Berry Crumble next time!

THE DRINKS AT SIBERIA

As well as releasing a winter food menu, Siberia have created some winter cocktails to match! The boys were not drinking on this occasion but of course Kirsty and I had to conduct the research!

Kirsty choice the popular Guava Nice Day (On the left) which is made with; gin, apple vodka, lemon, guava cordial and Spanish bitters. For my first drink I went for the Apple-y Ever After consisting of Zubrowska, Amaretto, lime, spiced maple syrup and cider!

For round 2 Kirsty chose the Orange you Glad? This contained El Jimador Blanco, Coitreau, Lapsing syrup, lime, spiced orange and topped with tonic. On the right, I opted for the Believe it or Nut. This was super christmassy to me and had Bacardi Oro, Cointreau, rosemary & pecan syrup, lime and Angostura bitters. They even set this one on fire!

Last but not least we both ordered the Blackberry & Ginger Mojito. One small issue… they had no blackberries left so they substituted it for raspberry instead and it was divine!

MY OVERALL THOUGHTS

I cannot sing Siberia’s praises loud enough! I’ve been a big fan of the bar and restaurant for a very long time and they just keep getting better. Whether you are looking for a pre-night out meal or a chill date night, Siberia is the place to be. Tasty food, great cocktails and an even better atmosphere! Did you know you can even play board games over a drink? Sounds ideal to me!
