[Post contains previous #AD content]

Aberdeen Restaurant Week is back and it starts today!!

This time round, I’ve decided that every day this week I will post about one of the many restaurants featuring in the foodie fortnight. So let’s kick off with the delicious Mi Amore.

In the last ARW in August, S and I were asked to review Mi Amore hence why there is a note about a partial AD at the beginning.

MI AMORE

This hidden gem is situated on Huntly Street so not generally one you would stumble across but one you most definitely should! Inside is a romantically modern but rustic vibe with pictures of Italy dotted around. This had Stephen and I reminiscing our trip to Venice in 2022.

Mi Amore are offering a 2 course menu with a soft drink for just £20pp (note this offer does not run on Friday or Saturday evenings)

STARTERS @ MI AMORE

To start, Stephen grabbed the Calamari Fritti (my usual go-to) a pile of deep-fried calamari with Marie Rose sauce. The Calamari from Amore is never rubbery or oily like some places!

I decided to try the Bruschetta Al Pesto; 2 pieces of Italian toasted bread topped with Red Pesto, Mozzarella Cheese and Rocket. I often avoid bruschetta because they can be a boring choice but it was the right amount of crisp, balanced beautifully with the cheese and pesto

MAINS @ MI AMORE

For mains Stephen chose a newbie to the Amore menu, Tagliatelle Carbonara; a classic! A delicate mix of Tagliatelle, bacon, garlic and parmesan…yum!

Every trip to Amore has seen me gravitate towards the Canneloni Fiorentina, it’s just a warm hug in a dish but since ARW is all about trying new things I tried the Tortonlini Spinaci; pasta parcels stuffed full with ricotta and spinach mixed in a creamy sauce with mushrooms. Oh boy. I’m so glad I tried something new because this indulgently creamy dish was incredible!

All dishes arrived at our table piping hot and full of flavour.

We were too full for dessert however is any Italian dinner complete without some caffeine? Stephen finished the night with a cappuccino whilst I couldn’t resist an Espresso Martini!

It’s not hard to see that Mi Amore are passionate about serving authentic and scrumptious food and ensuring every customer has a great experience.
