I was going through my lipstick collection the other day and realised that I have built up a pretty reasonable amount of NYX ones. I have lipsticks from 5 of the NYX ranges so hopefully it will give you an insight as to what they are all like!
I want to first let you know that all of the links that I have will just be to the Boots UK website as that is where I purchase all of my NYX products. The only downside to buying from Boots is that you cannot quite see what the colours are so there will only be one link for each type of lipstick.
NYX have so so many different kinds of lip products to chose from and the first type I’m going to write about is the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick – £6.50. I have to admit this is not my favourite formula as I find that they are quite sticky and difficult to top up – especially on nights out or having food. The colours I have are:
[pre-warning – Yes, I know my eyebrows need to be tamed and I do apologise for the state they are in!]
As you can see this is a bolder choice of lipstick but I do love it. I think I have only worn this out a couple of times but I have always had compliments about how cool it is! It is gorge.
Tea and Cookies
This is a more natural sort of pink – it is definitely not too bright. Its an easy one to chuck on with whatever you are wearing and any time of the day.
I LOVE THIS RED. I think this is one of my favourite reds in my collection. Its such a shame I dislike the formula so much but I think for this colour it is so worth it!
The next lipstick is from the NYX Macaron Lippies range – £5.50. I found that this was quite a greasy formula so not quite as opaque as I would like it to be but I’m sure with a lip liner it would look much better. I have the colour:
(I can’t actually find this lipstick at the moment and the only photo I have is when I wore it for my birthday breakfast. I had just came home from my holiday hence being so red and not being able to wear any base makeup!)
I definitely want to find a lip liner to make this one work because I think it is just such a pretty blue rather than having a navy!
The third type of lipstick I have is from the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream range – £5.50. This is definitely my favourite formula from NYX. They are so creamy and yet dry perfectly matte and also last for an incredible length of time! The three colours I have are:
This is a very ‘your lips but better’ sort of shade I think and its definitely a go to of mine for everyday wear!
I love this purple! I usually wear Mac – Heroine when I want a purple lip but I have found myself reaching for this one more! Its just more reliable however I must admit this did take three coats before it was opaque and non streaky!
I don’t know how else to describe this colour other than a mix of pink and purple which is a dull description but yeah! It is super pretty though.
Next up is the NYX Lip Lingerie Lipstick – £6.50. Now, if you have read my previous posts then you might know that I have had a love-hate relationship with this lipstick. When I first tried it, it just immediately cracked up on my lips and looked really awful. I then tried it a week or two later and didn’t have that problem and loved it. So I guess just be patient with this one? I purchased the colour:
All of the Lip Lingeries are very nude based and I do really love the colour of this one. I just don’t find myself reaching for it because I never know how it is going to look.
AND FINALLY – The last kind of lipstick I have to talk about is the NYX Matte Lipsticks – £6.50. Not too much to say about the formula of this one as it is pretty standard! Don’t get me wrong I do love it but I guess it’s just like any normal matte lipstick! The colour I purchased was:
Yes I know, another grey! Since I wasn’t a huge fan of the lip suede formula I wanted another grey lipstick so I could still wear a grey lip and I’m pretty happy with this one! Unfortunately you can’t seem to be able to buy this one online but look out for it in stores!
Overall I am impressed with all of the lipstick ranges as for the price of them they do exactly what you need them to and NYX offer such a huge huge range of colours! They are definitely a brand that you need to check out! Plus if you are a boots points horder like me it is even better!!
