After watching all the Youtubers head out to the Maldives for the launch of Benefits Bad Gal Bang Mascara I felt it was a must to go ahead and pick one up for myself and see what all the hype was about!
The mascara retails for a pretty high £21.50 for 0.3oz of product. On their website they have the following description for the product; “BADgal BANG! 36-HOUR* FULL-BLAST volumising mascara creates MASSIVE volume without weighing down lashes. The gravity-defying formula contains aero-particles, one of the lightest known materials, derived from space technology. This innovative intense pitch-black mascara layers easily for bigger & BIGGER impact. Its custom big Slimpact! brush is streamlined to reach root-to-tip, corner-to-corner, upper & lower lashes for BIG VOLUME WITH 360° REACH!”
So here’s the thing, I am not completely sold by this product. I have pretty short, straight out lashes so I need something that will help them to hold a curl however the formula of this mascara is very liquidy and therefore doesn’t do very much for my lashes. I was really gutted because I had seen so many people absolutely loving it and having gorgeous looking lashes. Also, for the price I wan’t willing to give up after the first try!
Quite some time back I finished a tube of the Benefit Rollerlash Mascara which I absolutely loved mainly because of the wand – so when the mascara ran out I kept it for the wand. The way that I seem to get this mascara to work for me is if I apply a thin layer to my lashes and then run through it with the Rollerlash wand to separate and lift my lashes. Granted the lift doesn’t hold for more than about an hour however it is enough time to get some decent pics!!
Overall, I absolutely love the packaging of the mascara and what it can do for people with long curly lashes but for me, the product on it’s own just sadly does not work. I will continue to use it and match it with other mascara so that it doesn’t go to waste but it is something to bare in mind if you are like me and have very straight lashes!
Have you got this mascara? What are your thoughts on it?
Bye for now,
