Hello and welcome back!

Stuck for what to get your Mum for mothers day? Then maybe I can help! This year mothering Sunday falls on 11th of March. Mothers day is a holiday that is celebrated by Catholic and Protestant Christians. It falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent which is three weeks before Easter Day. Now that we’ve learnt a little bit about the background lets get into the guide! (Remember – a gift is not about the monetary value!)

Flowers are such an understated gift in my opinion and they can be super inexpensive too. You can pick up a beautiful bunch of flowers from Asda or Tesco from as little as £3 or you can splash out a little and head to Marks and Spencers. You might even want to go to a professional florist who would arrange the flowers exactly how you like them.

Candles aren’t everyone’s cup of tea however can be a great gift for those that love a luxurious bath or just want a lovely smelling home. You can pick up scented candles pretty much anywhere – for as little as £1! I got this one from Home Bargains for £1.99 I believe and it is a perfect dupe for the Jo Malone Candles!

SUAGR. Confectionery is always a winner! Whether it is chocolate, fudge or nougat as long as it’s her favourite then you can’t go wrong. This is also an ideal gift if you are watching your money.

A more expensive gift option is perfume. Maybe it’s a little cliche but can you really have too much perfume? A personal favourite of mine is the Jo Malone Cologne in the scent ‘Wild Bluebell‘. It’s a beautiful light floral fragrance which is perfect for the spring time.

Depending on your mums preferences you may want to get her an item of jewellery. A nice necklace or a bracelet – whatever you think she would wear the most. A few years a go I got my mum a Nomination Bracelet which is essentially a charm bracelet, so now I will always pick out a new link for her to add to her bracelet. This is a lovely way to create a very personal gift over time.

Speaking of personal, why not get a special something made up just for her? A mug with her name on it or something that has the whole family included on it. My mum loves the simple Starbucks mugs because they are the perfect size for her coffees!

Another personalised idea is key rings. I got my boyfriend and I matching personalised key rings for valentines day and I love them so much. I got these made through an Etsy shop called BoBelles and I couldn’t recommend this lady more! They are super inexpensive and very good quality. They also come wrapped up nicely in tissue and individual bags.

My final suggestion is a gift card. Gift cards are perfect for those mums that have everything or can be a little fussy on what they like. I know my mum loves The Body Shop but she doesn’t need anything just yet so by giving her a gift card she can redeem it when she is running low on her favourites! It also gives us an excuse to have a girly day over town!

There are so many things you can do and buy to spoil your mum on mothers day but remember it isn’t about what you get her, it’s about showing your appreciation for her and taking the opportunity to thank her for all the wonderful things that she has done for you over your lifetime (god knows it can’t have been easy for mine!)

Hopefully this has inspired you and if you do use any of my suggestions please come back and let me know! Bye for now lovelies,
