Aberdeen weather has been ridiculous lately – we are genuinely experiencing all four season in one day!! The confusing weather has truly been taking a toll on my skin and so I decided to switch up my routine and hopefully save my skin. My skin has always been mainly dry with an oily chin and it’s also very red so trying to combat it all can be a bit of a nightmare.

Whether it is morning or night, I start my routine with cleansing. I’ve currently been using and loving the My Skin Matters Micellar Water. At only £2 a bottle – I really have no complaints about about this. It takes off my make up with ease and doesn’t leave my skin feeling irritated.

Recently I’ve been really trying to follow the double cleansing technique and I definitely have noticed a difference since doing this. I’m using the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Cleansing Oil in Gel by The Body Shop.  This product starts off as a gel and with water it turns into an oily / milky sort of texture. Since I’ve been double cleansing I’ve noticed my skin has been a lot clearer and break outs have definitely been minimised.

By this point my skin is feeling super tight, almost sore and in desperate need for hydration! I start by using the E.L.F Daily Hydration Moisturiser. I’ve never used anything from E.L.F before but at £9 I couldn’t say no to trying it out. I can confidently say it’s here to stay!

A few weeks ago I was very kindly sent the Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil. [Although this was sent to me I want to point out that my views are completely my own and not persuaded by the brand in any sort of way] First off, I freaking love the packaging – both the box and glass bottle are covered in a beautiful floral print that looks super chic. I’ve been using a couple drops of this day and night and was pleasantly surprised. The scent is really nice too, floral of course but not overpowering or enough to give you a headache like some scented products. I always thought of oils as making your skin feel greasy and horrible but this one is actually slightly tacky on the skin – not a texture for everyone but I like it. I’ve noticed my skin feeling a lot more hydrated and with the slight tackiness my make up has been going on much better too.

I like to finish my routine with a quick spritz of the Pixi Beauty Hydrating Milky Mist. This leaves a refreshing layer of hydration on the skin and it’s great for using through-out the day when your skin starts feeling a little dry again.

And that concludes my everyday skincare routine! I definitely have a lot of steps to slot in such as toners and eye creams but for now my skin has never been happier. Of course along side these products I’ve been drinking more water to also help keep my skin hydrated and has helped way more than I thought it ever could.

Do you have any skincare saviours that I should know about? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!

I love being nosey and reading people’s skincare routines, so this was a great post for me to look at! So happy to see e.l.f. make the list because I’ve been loving their products recently! The Body Shop oil-in-gel sounds incredible, so I might have to check that out! In terms of products you could check out, I’d absolutely recommend the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It’s the best skincare product I’ve ever used and it just seems to do wonders for the skin. If you’re looking for a toner, you could try the Pixi Rose Tonic as it’s very gentle and wouldn’t be too abrasive on your skin? xx

E.L.F is such an affordable brand and I’m so glad I’ve finally discovered how great it is!
I’ve actually never used anything from Kiehls but a few people have told me to invest in it so I think I’ll need to take a trip into town for it! I’ve actually just ordered the Rose Tonic so I’m glad you’ve recommended it too!

      Thanks for reading gal! xx

I’m always intrigued by other’s skin care routines so thank you for sharing. A lot of creams and cleansers just seem to make me break out so I now just stick to a No7 moisturiser, drinking lots of water and changing my pillow cases twice a week! I’m intrigued by the Dr Botanicals Facial Oil though, I haven’t tried something like that before!

I’ve honestly didn’t realise No7 did any sort of skincare – I’ll definitely need to check that out!

      Thanks for reading xx
