Ahh Gidi Grill… Where to start! Gidi Grill has featured on the blog before and it is absolutely worth writing about again!
Our first trip to Gidi Grill was in Dundee (review here..) and we were incredibly excited when they opened their doors in Aberdeen in November 2022.
The ARW Offer at Gidi Grill
- Any 3 Tapas Dishes for £20 (additional dishes at £5)
What we ate:
- Two Mini Chargrilled Handmade Beef Burgers; with harissa mayo and jackfruit slaw
- Mini Gidi Grill Spicy Mac n Cheese; served with Jerk Chicken Steak
- Garlic & Chilli Pit Prawns; tossed in herbs and Chilli Garlic Butter
- Dusted & Dropped Calamari; fried in homemade batter, served with harissa mayo
- Jerk Snapper Fillet; served with authentic West African flavoured Jollof Rice
- Reggae Reggae Loaded Nachos; melted cheese, pickled jalapenos, sour cream and homemade salsa
This was a feast and a half honestly. It is no wonder that this has quickly became a favourite of ours.
Stand Out Dishes
My stand out dish was most definitely the Garlic and Chilli Pit Prawns! Firstly, the prawns were beefy in size and the Chilli Garlic Butter was just so packed with flavour. It came with a slice of Garlic Bread too so you bet I lapped up every last drop.
Stephen’s stand out was the Dusted & Dropped Calamari. As someone who had never enjoyed Calamari before, I think that is saying something! In fact, Stephen was never a big fish fan at all before Gidi Grill but they have truly converted him.
A not so stand out was the Reggae Reggae Nachos; I feel they missed the mark on these contrasted with the jam-packed flavour in the other dishes. They were very much just standard nacho’s with not much of a kick.
Overall, we left with full and happies bellies!
