A couple of weeks ago Rabot 1745 Beauty very kindly sent me over a couple of products to try. My review is completely my own, honest and not influenced by the brand in any sort of way.
Who are they?
So let’s start with a little intro to the brand, shall we? In the simplest form, Rabot 1745 Beauty is a new chapter to the huge brand – Hotel Chocolat.
” For the past 14 years, Hotel Chocolat has been quietly revolutionising British chocolate. By growing our own beans, we disrupted the traditional cocoa farming model. By bringing ethically produced, high-quality chocolate to a mass market, we challenged the status quo ”
Over on their website you will find a variety of lip products, body butters, body scrubs, hand creams and fragrances all revolved around the chocolately scent.
The products I received
The first product I received was the Almond Chocolat Lip Balm. First of all, the packaging is amazing!! I really love the wooden packaging – I think it’s very modern and chic and also just something a little different.
When you first look at the Lip Balm it looks more like a scrub as you can see the lumpy texture to it however as soon as you press this against your lips it is like the lumps just melt and there is no exfoliating feeling at all. The scent of this lip balm is second to none, it is SO nice. I can’t say I get any almond notes but the chocolate scent is spot on and quite rich but without being over powering.
These lip balms retail for £7 for a 10ml container which is kinda pricey however you need the smallest amount of product so I do feel that it would last a substantial amount of time. It is a product I would definitely choose to purchase on my own accord in all the scents!
The second product the brand ‘scent’ (get it…) me was the Cacao & Wild Honey Hand Cream. This hand cream contains natural ingredients such as; cacao seed butter, mango seed oil and funnily enough, wild honey.
I first thought that this hand cream would be very sweet and potentially sickly smelling but I could not have been more wrong! It is surprisingly fresh, almost slightly floral which I am a big fan of!
As someone that suffers quite badly with dry hands, I was very excited to try this out to see if it made a difference to my skin and it 100% has. The cream dries in relatively quickly which is great because there is nothing more frustrating than having to wait for a cream to soak in and being unable to do anything until it has.
I also love that the cream doesn’t feel sticky or heavy like some creams can. You can slap a small dollop on your hands and literally forget about it. For a 30ml tube you are looking at £7 which similarly to the lip balm, is on the pricier side however a little definitely goes a long way. I would also definitely chose to buy this hand cream – I’m keen to try the cocoa and coconut scent next!
Overall, I’m loving Rabot 1745 Beauty! Simply based on these two products I am excited to try other scents for myself but I also think that they would make a great gift for someone without breaking the band too much. Big thanks to the brand for sending me these over to try out!
