THE SELF LOVE TAG

I’m having a bit of writers block at the moment and so I thought I’d pull out a good old tag – The Self Love Tag to be exact! Self love is a term that kinda gets thrown around a lot, this year especially but what the hell is it? It can be defined at “regard for one’s own well-being and happiness

I believe this tag was originally created by Just Lucy’s Life however the lovely Karina Hearts actually tagged me to do this waay back in 2017 but I missed the notification – sorry girl! Better late than never and all that! Let’s get started shall we??

Rules:
  1. Answer all the questions honestly.
  2. Tag 5 people who you want to bring a bit of happiness to.
Questions:

What is something that is getting you down at the moment?

Uncertainty. Where do I want to live? What career path do I want to follow? Who are my true friends? I’m only 23 and these things probably shouldn’t matter too much but to me they do. I’m so worried about not following the success of my family and friends that it’s almost holding me back from trying new things. Feeling uncertain about how things are going to turn out is so exhausting and confusing.

What is something that makes you happy?

James and I have been living together for the past month and it’s been amazing. My dad recently moved back to the UK, but while he was working offshore he asked us to look after his little dog and the house. It’s given us freedom and also taught us what is like to have the responsibility of a house. The shopping, the cooking, the cleaning and for us also looking after a dog – it was such a big change but we took it on well and I’ve loved every minute. It’s fully making me motivated to save even harder for our own place.

Name 3 guilty pleasures!

  1. Cheese – literally any cheese, usually in block form on its own!
  2. Deep fried pickles – uggghhhhh amazing
  3. Binge watching prison documentaries

What is something about yourself you want to improve on?

I feel like this needs two answers – mental and physical improvements.

Mental Improvement – Confidence

My confidence has grown over the past few years, quite a lot actually but I definitely have more to go.

Physical Improvement – Fitness

I would really like to improve my fitness this year. I recently did a 5k and it made me realise just how unfit I am. I’m 23 and don’t take any sort of care with my body and if I don’t change my ways I’m going to have some serious regrets in the future.

When was the last time you belly laughed?

Probably my birthday night out. I was surrounded by all my amazing friends – some of which travelled from Thurso, London and Dundee which made me feel incredibly loved. We made cocktails and just had an amazing night.

What is your biggest insecurity/fear?

Honestly I think one of my biggest fears is being falsely accused of something serious and ending up in prison. Surely I’m not the only one??

Name a song that always cheers you up when you’re down.

Hey-Ya! by OutKast – This is Zoe and I’s song. I’m not sure why but it 100% always cheers me up!

Name 3 things you like about yourself!

  1. My taste in music;  80’s, 90’s, indie, alt rock – gimme it all
  2. I’m thoughtful; I overly stress myself out making sure I get people the most perfect gifts or just making sure they know how important they are
  3. I laugh at everything; I’m 90% sure that it annoys a lot of people but others tell me it’s their favourite thing about me

What is an achievement that has made you proud of yourself this year?

Like I mentioned earlier I completed a 5k. This is a massive achievement for me for 2 reasons. Firstly, I was supposed to complete it with my best friend but sadly she was unable to make it. If this was last year I would have 100% dropped out but I followed through and did the 5k by myself (with James at the finish line but still).

Secondly, just completing a 5k was a challenge for me in itself. I made a stupid decision to be lazy and not train so I was super unprepared but I pushed through and completed it.

Tell us your happiest memory

I have so many happy memories but a recent one is most definitely going to London to see Zoe. Although she did manage to make it up to Aberdeen for my birthday we didn’t truly get to catch up so we spent the weekend having lots of laughs and drinks too. Playing drunk mini golf on the top of a shopping centre is most definitely something to remember!

I’m nominating;

If you fancy doing this tag too make sure to tag me in it so I can see your answers too.

See you Thursday with another Blogger of the Month post!

Aww thanks for the nomination! I’ve never heard of this tag before so I’m excited to do it. 😊 Congrats on completing the 5K too, that’s such a great achievement! I’d never be able to do that haha 😅

Aw thanks gal! Honestly if I can do it with literally zero training then you absolutely can! Despite the pain it was such a good feeling to have completed it!

Can’t wait to read your post! X
