GIRLS NIGHT AT ALL BAR ONE | ABERDEEN RESTAURANT REVIEW

Looking for the perfect place for girls night? Then look no further – I have found just that place! All Bar One has become a fave of mine and recently some blogging gals and I decided to have a wee cocktail catch up there.

Decor and Ambiance

From the minute you walk into the restaurant you are greeted with lots of black and gold luxurious decor. There’s a mixture of smaller tables and booths which makes it great for both intimate dining and a gals night out! There’s a mix of pop classics playing in background but it definitely seems to get louder the later on that it gets – which is perfect if you are going for a pre night out meal.

You could even go for a spot of cocktail making from just £25 per person which I actually did for my birthday and had a fantastic time! You get to make 3 cocktails each and you play lots of little games. p.s they might even let you chose the music for a bit!

Drinks

All Bar One have a wide variety of wines, spirits, beers and of course cocktails! It truly is tough to just chose one so be sure to give yourself enough time to try a few. On this visit I decided to start with a Raspberry and Peach Gintonica which is a firm favourite of mine. This one contains Tanqueray Gin, peach bitters, raspberry cordial and of course Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic. It truly is divine.

Once the rest of the girls arrived we decided that we should opt for a sharing cocktail / pitcher of some sort and upon looking at the menu we found the Blossom Birdcage Sharer.

There is three options to choose from and we opted for the Vodka, Watermelon, Raspberry and Rose one as Vodka was a firm choice for everyone. The cocktail contained Haku Japanese craft vodka with watermelon, lemon, apple, raspberry, rose juice and soda. The cages are designed to make 4 drinks and you get to pour it yourself. Would definitely like to try the Gin based one next time!

Food

On to the tasty bit! After some deliberation we decided that if we were planning to drink more that starters were a good shout! I went for a fan favourite; Salt and Pepper Calamari.

I pretty much order calamari anywhere I go and All Bar One wasn’t an exception! It was a fairly large portion, to be honest – you could definitely share this comfortably with someone. The coating was perfect and crispy without being crunchy – if that makes sense?? It also comes with a little pot of sweet chilli and lime dip which is definitely a twist from the mayonnaise type dips you usually get.

For mains I wanted something substantial to (hopefully) keep the hangover at bay. I was torn between a burger or the Firecracker Chicken, Chorizo Mac and Cheese. I opted for The Chicken Burger which comes with a cornflake coated buttermilk fried chicken patty served in a seeded bun with pickles, lettuce, red onion and tomato. This also comes with a side of fries and you can chose to have standard seasoned fries or sweet potato fries.

Someone please tell me how to take a photo of a burger that gives it justice because I’m baffled! Anyway, this burger was delicious! The coating was nice a crisp while the chicken was still juicy – can’t get any better than that. I think it would have nice to add in a spicy mayo or sriracha perhaps but that’s just personal preference!

My Overall Thoughts

Like I said at the start, I think All Bar One is great for a loads of different occasions. Whether it’s a date night, a birthday or just a girly catch up like ours it’s perfect! I think they have a strong choice of cocktails available and the food is tasty too. I’ll definitely be going back in near future!
